NEW TOWN PLAN
Williamsburg, Virginia
The design strategy for the new suburban townplan (2000-3000 inhabitants) challenges the concept of the typical suburban community being currently constructed in various parts of the US today. The interweaving formal strategy is a result of a combination of various programmatical requirements including single family residences, townhouses and apartments. The plan reformulates the concept of main street USA by dispersing the main street program throughtout the site, threby creating a highhly differentuated heterogenous town plan.
