SLOW SPACE
Fire Island
Slow Space allows for this house to have a flexible and multitude of programmatic interludes to interface seamlessly in its speculative environment. This house is an exploration of complex transparency and is also a continuation in investigation of a single surface both in terms of program and form. The design called for a generic form which could be accommodated in several different settings. The form of the house was a result of zoning restrictions in the Pines, which dictate that new construction be limited to the foot print of the existing tear down structure.
