This is a winning design competition for a Murano Glass Chandelier based on the concepts of Andy Warhol. Floating Spectrum takes its initial inspiration from Warhol's Flower series created in 1964. The calculation and mapping color digitally and then translated into a 3 dimensional shape lead the design process. The form was based on color definitions in RGB and HSB scales graphed and measured to define a 3-D image. This yielded a design of a non-traditional chandelier: an object floating in space, a glowing object that combines a multitude of color possibilities.
